Revised agreement was due today

-- Library Journal, 11/09/2009

Everybody watching the Google Book Search settlement was expecting a revised agreement between Google and the Authors Guild and the Association of American Publishers to be delivered today.

However, the New York Times reported that the parties have requested an extension to Friday, November 13. In the letter, the Times said, the parties stated that they had "met with the Justice Department before and after the October status hearing and had met as recently as Friday, Nov. 6."

The Justice Department and others have posed significant objections, as noted last week by the Open Book Alliance.
